    About the Role

    To undertake daily/weekly/monthly Laboratory and Quality tasks to assure and drive Quality on site and meet KPI requirements for cost, quality, service and behaviours through agreed ways of working.

    Key Accountabilities 

    • Work in a safe manner and regarding the safety of self and colleagues, complying with all SHE, Quality, Technical and Food Safety requirements.
    • Undertake Routine analysis including OG/ABV, WAL, Colour pH, N2, TPP, VDK, Nibem, BU, Iso/Tetra, Glycol, Haze/HFT, SO2, and water checks to ensure Department KPI’s are met.
    • Undertake Routine Micro including Drips, Kegs and Process samples to ensure Department KPI’s are met.
    • Carry out instrument calibration including Alcolyser, Rapitec, Spectrophotometer, DMA, DO2/CO2/N2 meters to ensure test results are accurate.
    • Effective interpretation of routine results to identify quality issues and identify appropriate solutions
    • Support departmental quality audits including Pack Quality, Process Audit Checks, HACCP audits to maintain appropriate standards across the Brewery.
    • Attend and represent the Quality Department at appropriate meetings and briefings to ensure successful transfer and communication of information.
    • Undertake general Housekeeping including 5S, goods intake, and parcel despatch to maintain and improve the working environment.
    • Liaise with internal and external customers as required to ensure departmental targets are met and standards are maintained.
    • Support and deliver key Company objectives and programmes to deliver results and ways of working consistent with the Tennent’s Values and Behaviours
    • Other duties as appropriate

     

     About you 

    • HNC or equivalent in a relevant Science subject
    • Brewing Foundation Certificate preferred
    • Experience of scientific analysis and interpretation of results
    • Exceptional levels of attention to detail
    • Ability to act with integrity and maintain Quality standards
    • Understanding/experience in a brewery or food manufacturing laboratory
    • Experience of liaising with internal/external customers across a multifunction site
    • IT Literate
